I had the greatest time with the Flores family during our extended family photo session! I’ve known Rachel for years through homeschooling circles, but this was our very first photo session together.
They really are such a wonderful Christian family! And goofy, too! I loved that they brought their sense of humor. We laughed non-stop!
As Rachel and I spoke about where the session should take place, we settled on one of my personal favorite locations, Riverside Park! This park has tall, romantic oaks covered in Spanish moss.
These oaks are definitely climbable, which always makes for some cute moments with the kids! They love to perch in the thick branches.
At the same time, the pathways are all flat and even, very walkable for those with mobility issues. Rachel’s parents, Boyd and Joyce, were completely comfortable with the path. Even so, I made sure to shoot through our list of desired photos so that their section would be over the fastest.
Another highlight of this park is that it shares a parking lot with Veteran’s Memorial Island. This area has a gorgeous rocky shore with stunning views of the Indian River and native plants.
Rachel and Brian have four amazing kids. They are such a JOY to be around, and they love their little sister Joy so much! She’s just eighteen months old and as cute as a button.
Before the session, Rachel warned me that Meah was covered in bug bites and wondered if she should try to put makeup on them. I didn’t want them to try that in case it made them worse, so I edited most of them out during the post-processing of the images.
Sam also had a cast. It wasn’t something we wanted to draw attention to since he won’t be in it forever, so we tried to pose Sam in a way where it wasn’t super obvious. I hope you get well soon, Sam!
In the end, we wrapped up with some couple photos of Rachel and Brian, and then we packed up and went home. Thanks so much for trusting me with your family photos! It was so special to see you all again.
