The Baby Program holds a special place in my heart, purely because I love photographing a baby’s first year. They grow so much in such a short time, and it’s one of my biggest regrets that I didn’t get proper photos of my own babies when they were this old. Fortunately, for this family, they will have these photos to cherish forever.
Documenting Lorelei's first-year milestones has been an incredible journey. She was already super loved before she came into the world, and it’s been so exciting to watch her grow into the big girl she is today!
To finish off her Baby Program sessions, the whole family came together to celebrate. Alison and Rick brought Lorelei and her three older siblings, Jewel, Aidan, and Micah. Alison’s mom Joan and her brother Michael were also able to join us!
We went to Riverside Park in Vero Beach, Florida. This spot is one of my favorites because it’s full of gorgeous murals and oaks with romantic Spanish moss. However, because it was so sunny out, we opted to stay at the gazebo, which had enough shade.
Even though we had this session during the worst time of day, this spot was the perfect backdrop for capturing beautiful moments without the worry of harsh lighting. You’d never know that we struggled with lighting! Each and every photo in this gallery is a treasure.
We first took some adorable portraits of Baby Lorelei, and then the whole family came together for some group photos. Everyone was so happy to celebrate her! What made this session particularly special was that Alison brought her father’s picture in a frame so that he could be a part of the photos, too. This touching tribute was such a heartfelt moment for Joan.
As a photographer, these raw, emotional moments are what makes this profession so deeply rewarding. While bidding farewell to a milestone series is always accompanied by a tinge of sadness, it's also the beginning of a special project that I always complete at the end of the Baby Program—the creation of the Baby Book.
The Baby Book is a high-quality photo book that I curate for you from all of the best images from your baby’s first year. It’s always a highlight, and I know that Lorelei’s is going to be amazing!
While this might mark the end of Lorelei's Baby Program sessions, it's by no means the end of our journey together. I eagerly anticipate more opportunities to capture the beauty and growth of this incredible family in the future. Thanks so much for choosing me as your photographer!
