I can’t believe it! Baby Ellie turned one! These adorable milestone photos are bound to make you grin from ear to ear. To conclude our Baby Program, we headed out to McKee Botanical Gardens where we took some beautiful photos that will last a lifetime.
I love the McKee Botanical Gardens! This location features several unique areas such as the Hall of Giants, which is a historic structure that can be rented out for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions.
It’s estimated that these gardens are home to over 10,000 different plants and more than 1,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants from around the world. The garden’s collection includes palms, bamboos, orchids, and even a baobab tree!
Because of its vast variety of plants, Alex and I thought it was the perfect place to bring Baby Ellie for her one year photos. We were right!
Baby Ellie loved interacting with nature—even eating it! She accidentally got her fill of dirt while Alex and I weren’t looking. Oops!
Despite that hiccup, she was as cute as could be. I couldn’t help but squeal with glee at every shot! Alex and I had a blast getting her to smile and laugh. We definitely got some winners!
It’s crazy to think of how big she’s gotten. I’ve watched her grow from a tiny newborn, and nothing could be a greater honor as a family photographer.
Unfortunately, the McKee Gardens are only open during bright sunlight hours, so we have to be creative about finding shade. However, between the Hall of Giants and the lush greenery, we found a ton of stunning backdrops!
Originally, we planned to have an outfit change during our session so Ellie could wear a pink dress that both her sisters, Kaylie and Emilie, wore when they were little. But we ended up devoting it to a whole mini session ad-on! Stay tuned for next week to see all of the delicious pink photos from that session!
I had such a blast photographing Ellie for her one year Baby Program update! It’s crazy how fast this year has gone by, and I’m so thrilled to have had the opportunity to photograph all of her milestones.
